Equatorial Guinea

Explore Equatorial Guinea

Equatorial Guinea (Spanish: República de Guinea Ecuatorial) is a small country in Central Africa that's divided into three parts: the mainland, Bioko Island, where the former capital is located, and Annobón Island. The mainland is wedged between Cameroon and Gabon. It is one of the largest oil producers in Africa, along with Angola and Nigeria. Equatorial Guinea is largely homogenous; the Fang (a Bantu-origin ethnicity) are the largest ethnic group, making up more than 86% of the population.
